Freelance Support
As a freelancer, daily administration tasks can take up the majority of your working hours. Organising work diaries against personal commitments, managing clients, auditing documents, attending meetings and ensuring you are legally compliant are just a few of the things you have to consider on a daily basis. The Access to Work scheme is able to assist with this. Access to Work (ATW) is a government programme that offers support based on your needs, which may include a grant to help cover the costs of practical support in the workplace.
If you have a diagnosis of a disability, long-term health condition or mental health condition, you are eligible for Access to Work support.
How it Works
What can a support worker assist with?
Your support will be entirely tailored to your specific needs, and can assist with:
- Diary management
- Drafting and responding to emails
- Invoicing for bookings
- Chasing payments
- Updating insurance and legal documents
- Managing professional body memberships and associations
- Any many more!
In addition to practical support, Access to Work can provide funding for assistive equipment and the necessary training to use it effectively.
This could include specialised software, ergonomic furniture, or other tools designed to make your work environment more accessible and tailored to your needs. As well as funding new equipment, it can also fund adaptations to existing equipment, such as installing screen reading software on a laptop. With the right equipment and training, you can perform your role more efficiently and comfortably, breaking down barriers and achieving your full potential in the workplace.
