Role Models
Our role models work alongside deaf and disabled people to support them in making healthy and positive lifestyle choices. They act as a positive role model as they prepare young deaf and disabled people for adult life.
Role models can help young deaf and disabled people to avoid the negative social experiences that being deaf or disabled can bring, whilst helping them navigate some of the hardest years of their lives.

Our role models work alongside our clients to guide them through their transition into adult life, helping them with employment and training opportunities, life skills and building strong and healthy relationships with themselves and others. They come from diverse backgrounds and have a wide range of experiences and expertise. From educators and counsellors to professionals with lived experiences of disability, they bring unique perspectives that resonate with young deaf and disabled individuals, fostering meaningful connections and providing tailored support.
What are some of the benefits of having a role model?
- Role models can serve as a source of inspiration, showing people what is possible despite potential challenges.
- They can motivate young people to strive for their goals and pursue their dreams with determination.
- Role models can offer guidance and support for personal development, assisting people in discovering their strengths and overcoming limitations.
- Role models contribute to the development of self-esteem and self-worth by demonstrating acceptance and pride in one’s identity and abilities.
- They empower individuals to make informed decisions and take ownership of their lives, promoting a sense of agency and responsibility.
